Little Black Dress

You can never go wrong with black, especially with a Little Black Dress (LBD).

"The Little Black Dress first rose to fame in the 1920s when Coco Chanel introduced it in one of her collections and has since cemented itself as an iconic fashion item every woman should have in her closet that is a symbol of chic and sophisticated simplicity. "

How true.

"The Little Black Dress first rose to fame in the 1920s when Coco Chanel introduced it in one of her collections and has since cemented itself as an iconic fashion item every woman should have in her closet that is a symbol of chic and sophisticated simplicity. "

I never liked black in the past and will steer away from it, picking other colours like cream, coral, pink. Felt that it makes me look dull, colour-less and older.

However, I have taken a liking to them in recent years, stocking up LBDs in the wardrobe. Somehow black makes you look more polished and professional instantly, and slimmer. Black is always black, never different shades that differ on screen. Unlike cream or coral. The dresses are of different cutting, length, material.. every details twig the dress a little, be it the leather trimings, ruffles, curved hem or structured shoulders that make it different from another LBD. Its somewhat like black heels, you know it will hardly go wrong. The tummy won't show and you look slimmer instantly!

Found these pics on Topshop's facebook which are really nice and inspiring, what do you think?

Love how they jazz it up with the accessories, in their own style.

Some of my favourite LBDs so far :)

I have a D&D to attend next Monday with TC and have decided on a LBD this time round instead my usual nude/cream dresses. It has sequins all over so will probably pair it with a raspberry Gojane high heels and keep the rest of the accessories really simple! Hopefully I wont change my mind last minute because I have a lace white cheongsam at the back of my mind as well!

Now that CNY is over, maybe its time to start wearing your LBD for a change? :)
