Advertorial - Gripz Shoes

I LOVE shoes from the bottom of my heart and I’m sure most girls do too! Definitely a topic that most of us can relate to.

Today, I’m going to introduce a local shoe shop – GRIPZ SHOES. The brand has been around for 11 years and is no stranger to the local shoe scene in Singapore. Since 2002, Gripz has adorned thousands of women’s feet bringing the Singapore footwear industry a step closer to the frontline of fashion. On top of that, Gripz has received recognition from several local magazines with honours like “The Best Boutique Finds in Singapore”, “Best Shoe Shop for Real-Girl Budgets” as well as “Best Shop for Fun Foot Wear”.

We love shopping online due to convenience and a parcel end of the day can chase away any Monday Blues instantly. I shop for shoes online at ASOS and Go Jane, but nothing beats trying shoes in brick & mortar shops really. I love my pointed high heels and it’s either 3.5 inches and above or flats & sandals for me. Nothing in between because kitten heels isn’t totally flattering at all in my opinion. The factors that I consider for shoes would be its versatility (whether it can match my existing wardrobe), design, material (suede, jelly and leather are my fav), comfty level and the stableness of the heel.

And good news, GRIPZ SHOES has now started an ONLINE STORE so as to cater to wider audience to share their definition of fashion. So you get convenience and to make it better, it’s FREE SHIPPING to any Singapore addresses! Also, you can exchange to another design if you change your mind within 10 days of the invoice date!

So let’s do some shopping NOW and these are my personal picks! ;)

  1. Black heel S1303 Shimplat ($89.90)

A pair of black peeptoes can match almost everything and is a must have for work! This pair is made of lamb suede and leather heels so you can be assured of its quality. My favourite part would be the red base (think Christian Loubotins) & shimmery gold material at the bottom. Classy to bring you through work and dinners yet not boring at all!

  1. Yellow heel S1203 Board ($51.73)

I like bright colours so this pair caught my eye with its cock texture with neon platform heel. It’s not in full neon so it’s easy to match. The side profile of the shoes with neon yellow made it special as well. I have a soft spot for such heels and have worn similar designs to death (black with red/pink heels). Best of all, this pair is discounted from $73.90 so it’s a pair I would want to grab too. Comes with pink heels too but I like yellow better.

  1. Red flat S1001 Umbrella ($34.95)

Red shoes are a staple in the shoe wardrobe because you can spice up a monochrome outfit instantly. Perfect with little black dresses! Lamb leather ballerina flats with sparkling umbrella at the front and it’s on half-price!

  1. Pink wedge S1303 Sunny ($79.90)

Wedges are perfect for casual days because you get both height and comfort. Comes in white as well.

  1. Black Heel S1205 Eight ($83.90)
My friend has this and I really like the colourful knot details at the back of the covered pumps. Super stable heels with comfty leather lining for office wear. Comes in beige with red knots too!

  1. Black flat S1211 Pearl ($79.90)

If you like pointy flats and pearls like me, you will like this pair!

  1. Silver Flat S1207 Dashing ($73.90)

Every girl needs a pair of sparkly flats and this pair can bring you to events or wedding dinners without looking out-of-place. And I especially like its ribbons!

  1. Pink Flat S1205 Cutie ($73.90)
For the girlier girls, you will like this pair of Lamb leather open toe wedge with bow! Comes in white too but I think pink is much nicer! #biased

  1. Rainbow flat S1207 Glitloaf ($73.90)
Last pair to introduce would be this glitter loafers that is so so edgy! Genuine leather inner lining to keep you comfty the whole day. Comes in Silver too.

All these shoes talk is making me hungry for some feet-candy right now.

Feasting & Friends

Birthday celebrations are fun because you get to see priceless smiles on your friends' faces and it's an excuse to feast as well. This means that exercising has to be doubled as well!

Creation Cafe
#01-43, Shaw Towers, 100 Beach Road

One of my favourite places for affordable and quality pastas with a twist! They serve tom-yam, laksa, chill crab and now javanese curry if you do not like traditional pastas like aglio olio & carbonara.

We booked the birthday boy before he flew back to HK for work!

Group pic with BFC!

The handsome guys!

Scorpio babes whom I love to death!

Pasta Brava Restaurant

11 Craig Road (Tanjong Pagar)

Another pasta place, but this time round at a homely Italian restaurant which serves fresh hand-made pasta and yummy desserts!

Calamari as starters

Not too appetizing in pictures but it's too good that I want to return for more!

With the intimates! ;)

Birthday kitty cake from The Cream Confection

The birthday girls!!!

Not the best lighting but good backdrop for ootds thanks to MH!

In my favourite Smooch dress with pink accessories ;)

SMooch dress // Kiel James Patrick Bracelet // Miumiu bag // Melissa Shoes // BKK Necklace

Catching up with Mynt, my ex-colleague and foodie-buddy! We kept in touch via social media but meeting up and nothing beats chatting face-to-face really. Also, she's a talented home manicurist and  you can check her works out here.

Tonkichi (Isetan Scotts)

4F, Shaw House, 350 Orchard Road

Authentic Japanese food and I will definitely be back esp for their speciality (Tonkatsu). Personally, I like the Shaw outlet more then the others coz it's pretty quiet and cosy for gatherings. The view from the window seat is splendid as well!

Pic together before we head for movie & shopping! ;)

Wore my new ASOS bright yellow Midi with a random sneakers I found last weekend. I really like the colour and I'm glad I picked it over navy in the end.

Pardon the tanlines due to the morning runs teehee.

ASOS dress // RM Bag // Fred Perry Shoes

Fatboy's The Burger Bar

465 Joo Chiat Road

Tried out Fatboy's for the first time and it was surprisingly good. The portion is just nice and the range of burgers is decent. Would prefer this over Carl Junior anytime.

With the besties!

Headed for desserts after that and Katong area is such a gem in the East really. There's lots of cafes and eateries in that area and we were saying we will do up a list to start trying each and every one of them!

Sinpopo BRAND
458 Joo Chiat Road

We were on our way to Awfully Chocolate when this eye-catchy place caught our eye. Sad to say, Sinpopo will not be a place we will come back again for desserts despite the nostalgic ambience and all. Not only was it mediocre, their speciality (Durian Icekachang) was so bad that we didn't finish most of it. Hopefully the hot desserts will be better. The prices are reasonable at $4.90 but you can probably get nicer desserts at Bedok Interchange Hakwer Centre at one-third the price.

Looks better than it tastes and the ice melted within 2 minutes?!

Best things in life

I went to support my colleague at the recent Straits Times Run which was held at my neighbourhood. And so, I joined in as a casual runner since it was my usual weekend route. It felt really good waking up so early in the morning and to see other runners clad in blue gathering at the starting line all ready to run. The best part about leisure running was that you do not need to care about your timing and the 1.5 hours spent beat any treadmill running anytime. The lovely sunrise view across Punggol was too breath-taking that I stopped several times just to snap a picture. It's one of the most satisfying simple pleasures in life to do what you like and the best things in life are often free.

My favourite picture that day, hardly any filters is required.
The touristy shot ;)
With my lovely colleague who finished 15km, wished I have her size when I'm a mother of two in future! Exercise is definitely the best make-up for us that morning ;)
